Over the summer we’ve had great performances from some of our senior players, firstly at the British Open Seniors Clay Court Championship held at Bournemouth. Chris Hearn won the Over 60’s singles 6-4 6-3 and the doubles 6-1 6-1, while Chris Clarke reached the semi-final of the Over 55’s before he had to retire.
Both players qualified for the 2022 British Closed Seniors Grass Court Championships held at the All England Club, Wimbledon. Chris Clarke won the Over 55s Singles final 6-2 6-1 against David Shann, beating both the top seeds in the semi and final. Chris Hearn did the double winning the Over 60s Singles and Doubles without dropping a set. The singles final was 6-3 6-0 against Richard Jackson and he won the doubles with his partner Stephen Walter 6-2 7-5 against Graham Neale and Richard Walmsley.
