The history of the first 90 years was published in 2016 in celebration of the women’s success at Group 1 of County Week in 2013. This was called Ninety Years to the Top.
However, it was thought appropriate to publish a second volume in this special year to celebrate this unique occasion and to record the history and records of the final years of this first century and this has been achieved with The Centenary Book.
Thanks to author and Bucks Tennis historian, David Orchard, Bucks now stands in a unique position as the only county to have a complete and comprehensive record covering all its history. Not only is this new book right up to date as it covers the results of the last year’s events but it also adds extra detail to previous history as the full record of match results in the Senior’s competitions since their inception have been included for the first time.
This latter feature should be of particular interest to those large numbers of players who play (or have played) in the Bucks Senior teams. However, this is a great opportunity for all supporters of Bucks Tennis to increase their knowledge of the county’s tennis history. Both books are available from Bucks Tennis at bargain prices.
