As a coach, there is an extra responsibility to provide a safe and inclusive environment on court, to help promote the welfare of all children, young people and adults at risk. It is vital that coaches meet the new safeguarding standards that are required for venues to register with the LTA and it is mandatory for Level 3-5 coaches to be Accredited or Accredited+.

You can find out more about the LTA Accreditation Scheme here.

You can book a safeguarding course here. At the moment, the LTA are running online Zoom courses and if you attend one of these, you will have to renew in 3 years time with a face to face course.

You can apply for a DBS check here. ID checks can now be carried out at the post office, as well as by an LTA approved ID checker, who you can find on this list. You must select the option you would like during the application process, as this cannot be changed later.

If you have any concerns or wish to report anything, you can use the online form here or call the LTA on 0208 487 7000. For further enquiries please email safeguarding@lta.org.uk.

If you would like to speak to someone outside office hours, you can call the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000 or if someone is in immediate danger, call the police.
